News for the week of 9-24

Notes from Ms. Rau:
  • May the Force be with Lake Orion!- The 2018 Lake Orion Homecoming Parade will be on Sunday, September 30th at 3:00 P.M. in downtown Lake Orion. All students from Webber are invited to walk in the parade with an adult. The theme this year is STAR WARS, so feel free to dress up if you would like. October 1st-October 5th will be Spirit week at Webber. Please look for more information to come.

Important Dates to Remember:
October 1st - October 5th - Spirit Week (Star Wars Theme)

  • Monday- “PJaba” Day-wear your pajamas to school (be sure to bring appropriate shoes for PE and recess)
  • Tuesday -Clone Day-wear a white shirt with blue jeans or a Star Wars shirt
  • Wednesday-Wookie Hair Day-do something wacky with your hair
  • Thursday - "Read” Squadron Day- Wear red or dress like your favorite book character
  • Friday- May the force be with Lake Orion-Wear Lake Orion or Webber gear or dress in green and white
October 12th - O.C.C Fire Cadets presenting Fire Safety in all classesOctober 5th - Webber Wiggle

    • learn to unfreeze their characters by adding action lines and speech bubbles
    • learn how to let readers know when someone is talking
    • tell stories in itsy-bitsy steps
    • bring what's on the inside out (add feelings to their stories)

    • sneak a peek at the pictures to figure out tricky words
    • drop bad habits and pick up good habits
    • look at all parts of a tricky word to help solve it

    • take the unit 1 math test
    • represent addition with pictures

    • inquire why it is still daylight when we go to sleep
    • document the daytime moon's position at three different times a day

    • begin to record data of the sunrise and sunset for one month
