Webber Discovery Fair
Webber’s annual
Discovery Fair is scheduled for Friday, March 16 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
This family event is a celebration of science, technology, and the arts. This
year’s Fair will include a student art show, live animal exhibit, fifth grade
jet toy demonstrations, LOHS and Waldon Robotics teams, a Home Depot kids’
workshop, a visual art immersion program, individual student projects of
discovery, engineering challenges, and more!
We are in need
of a few more parent volunteers to make this evening a success. If you are

March is Reading Month Events this Week
- One day this week students will swap with another class and listen to a teacher read his or her favorite animal read aloud
- Wacky Wednesday, March 14 - Dress to Impress Day (donations to Oakland County Animal Shelter)
- 3/16 - Furry Friday Reading (bring in a stuffed animal to snuggle up with as we read)

Learning This Week
Readers will...
- do a triple check to self monitor their reading
- make a plan for their reading time
- get help when they need it
Mathematicians will...
- collect, organize, represent, and interpret data with three categories
- solve comparing problems
- learn the math vocabulary words most and fewer
Writers will...
- make sure their sentences are not too long by adding punctuation
- review their own reviews using a checklist
- rehearse their book reviews with a strong speaker voice
- read their book reviews to Mrs. Bruce's class
Scientists will...
- join a band with one other students from our class and each make their own instrument that produces a different sound.
- perform their instruments in front of our class
- share how sound is made from their instrument
- display their instruments at the Discovery Fair outside of our classroom
